Finite extension
Definition
A field extension is finite if its degree is finite. Otherwise is an infinite extension.
Remarks
A finite extension is not the same as an extension of finite fields. For example, is finite, and both fields are infinite. The extension is finite of degree . The field of rational functions is an infinite extension of , because are linearly independent over . Finite extensions are algebraic.
Explanations
L1 human
A finite extension is one that is a finite-dimensional vector space over the smaller field. Each element of it is a combination of finitely many fixed elements, with coefficients in the smaller field.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
