Jacobian matrix

Summary

Let U⊆RnU \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n be open. The Jacobian matrix of a map f ⁣:U→Rmf \colon U \to \mathbb{R}^m at a point aa is the m×nm \times n matrix of all first partial derivatives ∂fi/∂xj\partial f_i / \partial x_j at aa. When ff is differentiable at aa, it is the matrix of the total derivative Df(a)Df(a) in the standard bases.

What this node needs for W2
  • edge instance_of in: at least two examples (0 of 2)
  • edge not_instance_of in: at least one non-example (0 of 1)
  • edge specializes both: the more general notions and the special cases (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What depends on this

40 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
