Walk

Definition

Let GG be a graph, let kk be a natural number, and let u,vu, v be vertices of GG. A walk of length kk from uu to vv is a sequence of vertices (w0,w1,…,wk)(w_0, w_1, \dots, w_k) with w0=uw_0 = u, wk=vw_k = v, and wi−1∼wiw_{i-1} \sim w_i for 1≤i≤k1 \le i \le k. Its edges are the edges wi−1wiw_{i-1} w_i.

Remarks

A walk may repeat vertices and edges. A walk of length 00 is a single vertex. A trail has no repeated edge, and a path has no repeated vertex. A walk is closed if u=vu = v.

Explanations

L1 human

A walk is a route through a graph that goes from vertex to vertex along edges. You may visit the same vertex or use the same edge more than once.

What this node needs for W1
  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What this needs

To read this node, read these 2 nodes in this order. The foundations come first, and the list ends with this node.

Each node uses the nodes above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows the evidence level, and the box also gives it as text. The list below has the same nodes.
  • no evidence level

  2. Walk definition

What depends on this

37 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
