Proof of Lagrange's theorem
Proof
- Let be a finite group and let be a subgroup of .
- For , let when . Since contains the identity, inverses and products, this relation is reflexive, symmetric and transitive.
- The class of under is the left coset , because exactly when .
- The equivalence classes form a partition of . Thus is the disjoint union of distinct left cosets for some integer .
- [[Each left coset has elements|0DKMBWTD7P]].
- Thus , and divides .
Idea
The left cosets of the subgroup cut the group into blocks of equal size. The order of the group is the number of blocks times the size of one block.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
