Parallelepiped
Definition
Let be a point of , and let , and be linearly independent vectors in . The parallelepiped with the vertex and the edges , and is the set
Remarks
The parallelepiped has 8 vertices with , 12 edges and 6 faces. Opposite faces are congruent parallelograms in parallel planes. Its volume is the absolute value of the scalar triple product . In Mathlib, the parallelepiped of a finite family of vectors is the set of the sums with each . It does not ask for linear independence. A cube and a rectangular cuboid are special parallelepipeds.
Explanations
L1 human
Take a cube and push it sideways so that its faces lean, but stay flat. The result is a parallelepiped. Each face is a parallelogram, and opposite faces are copies of each other.
What this node needs for W2
- edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
- edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
