Cofactor
Definition
Let be a commutative ring and let be an matrix over , with . The cofactor of in position is where is a first minor of . It is the minor that results when row and column are deleted.
Remarks
The signs form a checkerboard pattern, with in the top left corner. The cofactors give the Laplace expansion of the determinant. The transpose of the matrix of cofactors is the adjugate matrix.
Explanations

A cofactor is a minor with a sign. The sign is or , according to a checkerboard pattern. For the matrix , the cofactors are , , and .
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
